Djangr FC- We engaged in rigorous debate about potential discriminatory treatment based on MSAA, Mongolian Soccer Association of America actions, but in the spirit of sportsmanship, we agreed to participate in the 2017 MSAA tournament. After months of fundraising and securing sponsorship, we finalized our travel plans and alerted the Kalmyk community. Then, information was received containing an accusation and informal rule changes from MSAA.
These rules appear to disguise the discrimination that stopped us from participating in the tournament the last two years. The President of Mongolia, Tsakhiagiin Elbegdorj, has a mission to bring all Mongols together. Unfortunately, the MSAA does not understand the potential this tournament has to unite all Mongols. The President would be ashamed and disappointed.
The tournament is not about soccer, but bringing our youth together and bridging the elders to our younger generation once a year. By alienating DjangrFC and the Kalmyk community, you have done the MSAA irreparable damage. The only true rule is that players have a Mongol bloodline.
Due to this mindset of the MSAA, DjangrFC will no longer support MSAA sponsored events. ... See MoreSee Less

Kalmyks were never considered Mongol by Mongols. That was the easy American answer to who we were..... Our language and customs have evolved over time... We need to be comfortable with our own identity. DNA may say different but we are seperated culturally and by language. The whole socceer thing is about nationalism and fear.
The MSAA governing body is the one the should tuck tail
...in the distant past, I realize the tribes didn't always get along and it took the dynamic personality of Temerchin to unite the nation into one formidable force; but gee whiz, we don't need flak from the MSAA and quibbles over Khalha vs. Oirat origins to become obstacles of unity and solidarity... The main sentiment expressed herein is that this should be about Soccer and not whatever else that divides and alienates... What a bummer.... 🙁

I would like to take the time to acknowledge Natalie Abuschinow Schneider for all the hard work she has done behind the scenes in heading our Djangr F.C. committee for the last 6 months and keeping everyone in line and up to date with information and on board with all our fundraising and event planning! The end result was tremendous as we seen what looked to be well over 300 supporters coming out to watch the tournament through out the weekend as we still believe that soccer is secondary and the community and family comes 1st! Winning the Men's Open division Championship for the 1st time and our Senior team placing 4th with all the injuries they incurred was icing on the cake!Great job Natalie and we could not have made this such a successful weekend of fun and soccer without your organizational and fundraising skills, thank you! From The Djangr F.C. family and players! ... That's okay Burr. The Final was at 2:30 pm (not am)...just sayin'.....
Bem, 2:30PM this ole mailman was still sleeping!
I wholeheartedly concur. Natalie has quietly gone about organizing and helping Kalmyk organizations under appreciated. More Kalmyks like Natalie and we can renergize our people and culture. We don't want to be so assimilated in American culture that the only Kalmyk thing that is left is our unique family names!
I would like to take this opportunity to express our sincere, heartfelt acknowledgement to all our families, friends, and fans who came out to support not only our Djangr Teams, but to help support and maintain our cultural identity. Without your encouragement and support, none of this would have been as fulfilling. We, as Kalmyks, must maintain our heritage and cultural uniqueness and Djangr FC is a great catalyst to achieve this. An outstanding "Shout Out" to our World Champions and Senior Team for a memorable tournament and great on/off field times. ... See MoreSee Less
