We are so happy that so many people have expressed an interest in the Kalmyk Youth Conference. This is the first ever Kalmyk Youth Conference in the US which will be focused on history, culture and identity. We hope that this conference will serve as both an educational and networking space for young Kalmyks to get to know each other and help to build our connections as the future generation.
This has been a pilot project for us because this is the first event of its kind and we have been so surprised by the turnout. We currently have 40 youths registered between the ages of 16-35. Due to the demand WE HAVE EXTENDED OUR REGISTRATION DEADLINE UNTIL TOMORROW FRIDAY JUNE 26TH. SO YOU STILL HAVE TIME TO SIGNUP! Please note you must register in order to attend.
It has also come to our attention that many people over the age of 35 are interested in attending this conference. Please note we have raised the issue with Telo Rinpoche and he is very happy to hear that so many people are interested, he would like to do a separate event for the older folks (35 and older) in the future. We have been receiving inquiries for why there is an age cutoff at all and I would like to answer this question on behalf of my team. During talks with Kalmyk youth some have expressed that they would not talk as much if there were older people present. They feel intimidated by the older generation because they feel they do not have as much knowledge of the history and culture and that they would be judged because of this. In order to make these youths feel comfortable we have created an age cutoff.
Thank you again for your interest in this conference. We will be posting the program itinerary soon. Please contact us at email@example.com if you have any questions and remember the registration has been extended until tomorrow Friday June 26th so you can still share the link with your friends and family. We appreciate your support so much and could not have made this event successful without your help. ... See MoreSee Less

On this very auspicious day of the full moon, Arvn Tavn (15th) of month of Zuul, we are sad to announce that our beloved Venerable Yonden Gyatso has entered a pre-death meditative state this morning around 4:30 am. As you know he has been under hospice care for the last several weeks.
He is truly a holy monk...throughout his many health ordeals this year, he has remained calm, peaceful and without any pain. Our Geshes have been praying in his room all morning helping to bless his forward path. We have received approval from the Howell Police Dept to allow him to remain in his room undisturbed until Geshes declare his passing.
More information to follow as soon as plans are finalized for his Cremation/Buyan services. Prayers for his quick upward rebirth are welcome.
